“My family and I are witnesses to the growth of the Church Of Christ here in Cagayan De Oro City. There were many hardships and persecution that me and my fellow brethren encountered but with God’s help, we’re still able to uphold our services to Him.” Jeremias Quiñanola, 65, deacon, thus testified of the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental in the Philippines, as it celebrates its 69th anniversary, for which the district held a series of events on January 8, 2023.

First among the set of activities was the district-wide special gathering. The Church officers and members attended at the house of worship of the Cagayan de Oro City Local Congregation. Officiating at the special occasion, Brother Benjamin O. Pelias, district supervising minister, emphasized how God is true to His promises, that is, fulfilling all of them, which is why the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in these last days continues to be triumphant in its endeavors.

After the special gathering, the brethren proceeded to the gymnasium of the Capitol University, still in Cagayan de Oro City, for the photo exhibit which was prepared by the Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers. It showcased, through mounted pictures, the zeal of the brethren as shown in their participation in various Church activities since the time the district was established in 1954 up to the present. Exhibited also were the photos of houses of worship within the district, old and newly built ones.

The anniversary celebration’s series of events concluded with an INConcert held at the same venue of the photo exhibit. Talented brethren displayed their God-given talents by singing their rendition of INC Original Music. There were also those who presented dance performances.

“Praises be to God that our district has reached its 69th anniversary. I am also thankful to the Church Administration for continuously guiding us in our services to the Father. The activities as part of our anniversary celebration truly gave much inspiration and joy to us here in this district,” said Lorenz Matthew Cambe, Binhi and CWS officer in the Local Congregation of Carmen.

On behalf of the district, Brother Noel Plaza Jr., district CFO overseer, said, “We will remain zealous in our services to God until we all reach God’s promised salvation.” — With assistance from Marck Angelo R. Delos Reyes and reports from INC News Section
