The leadership of the Local Congregation of Gold Coast, Queensland, in the Ecclesiastical District of Australia East, organized a Christian Family Organizations (CFO) Formal on November 5, 2023. Their family members, from parents to children, were joined by those from the Lismore, New South Wales Group Worship Service (GWS) for a night of bonding with one another.

Held in a function room at Novotel Surfers Paradise, Queensland, the program included a formal dinner, presentations of Iglesia Ni Cristo original songs, and games. Brethren who actively participated in the propagation of the gospel this year, and those who showed dedication in performing Church duties, as well as the ones who sported the best attire were given certificates of recognition.

“That we’re together shows the love of brotherhood and the effort everyone puts to be together despite the distance, so we could have memorable time with each other,” said Andrew Hayward, overseer in Lismore GWS, who traveled with fellow brethren from the same congregation for about two hours.

“The brethren were very excited because this event is rare, during which we all dressed up, looking nice in gowns and suits,” said Brother Glenn David, resident minister, who supervised the activity.  “It’s also a time when many brethren showcased their talents in singing. They were so into practicing as they prepared for this event the past few weeks. Through such way, they got closer and edified in the faith, the culmination of which was tonight’s performances,” he added. — With reports from Recil Marie Montejo of INC News Section
