Forty-one kilometers southwest of the Local Congregation of Fukuoka, Ecclesiastical District of Nagoya, Japan, a new group worship service (GWS), Hakata, was established. Prior to its establishment, Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) members from the Hakata GWS used to travel almost an hour to attend worship services and religious gatherings in Fukouka.

On August 12, 2023, the brethren’s prayers were granted by God as the Hakata GWS held its inaugural worship service led by the district supervising minister, Brother Manny Benedicto. The study of God’s words highlighted, through biblical prophecies, that the Church Of Christ is indeed the true Church which will be saved come Judgment Day.

“I am really grateful to our Lord God for allowing us to have a place of worship near our homes here in Japan. Without His help we couldn’t have found this place to continue our services to Him,” expressed Charlotte Velasco, a choir member.

Likewise, Aligen Miyazaki, GWS secretary, was also thankful to God because according to her, “All the more we can invite our friends and loved ones to our worship services and evangelical missions since the place of worship is just around our area.”

The current resident minister overseeing the Hakata GWS is Brother Rafael De Mesa. In an interview, he relayed how the brethren felt after learning the Church Administration’s approval of their GWS: “They were overjoyed with the great news. Thanks be to God for this wonderful blessing.” — With reports from Edleen Guanco of INC News Section
