On the road to the 55th anniversary of the Church in the West in July, the congregations in the Ecclesiastical District of Hawaii-Pacific began commemorating the historic occasion with evangelical missions held in various sites all over the district to share the true faith.

As the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) celebrates its 109th anniversary this year, it also commemorates 55 years of existence in the Far West since its local congregation outside the Philippines was established in Ewa Beach, Hawaii, USA on July 27, 1968.

This district-wide evangelistic event, conducted under the overall supervision of the Hawaii-Pacific District supervising minister, Brother Gem Baitan, took place on the four of the main islands of Hawaii—Big Island, Oahu, Kauai, and Maui—and one in American Samoa, on July 2, 2023.

Leading all designated ministers and ministerial workers to preach the gospel, assistant district supervising minister, Brother Linuel de Leon officiated at the house of worship of the Ewa Beach Local Congregation. They expounded on the instruction of the Savior and Lord Jesus Christ written in the Bible to those who want to be saved by Him, which is to become members of His Church, the Church Of Christ.

“We prepared for almost a month for this evangelical mission,” Brother Dontae Thompson, resident ministerial worker of the Ewa Beach Congregation. “One of our main goals is to get the message across to the residents here in Hawaii that only the Church Of Christ is that which Christ founded.”

Samantha Bolda from Ewa Beach, who brought many guests, said, “We’re always taught to invite our friends and loved ones so that they would understand what we believe in. — With reports from Sean Adam of INC News Section
