The Local Congregation of Calaoa-an in the Ecclesiastical District of Ilocos Sur, Philippines, was established in 1947, under the leadership of God’s Messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Manalo (1886-1963). Making its 76th anniversary celebration doubly special, its newly renovated house of worship was dedicated to God on December 15, 2023.

Brother Arnel Tumanan, a minister of the gospel and assistant dean of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) School for Ministers, was sent by the Church Administration to officiate at the holy gathering.

Brother Tumanan emphasized from the Bible that members of the true Church must always be strong in their faith. They might feel weakened by life’s trials sometimes for they are but humans, he said, but they must always trust and have faith in what God can do for them.

“We are so thankful to the Lord God for upholding us even through toughest of times. Through the years, our zeal in serving God continues intensifying,” said Jerry Valdez, the head deacon.

“The happiness in our hearts is so immense as this special worship service has been a testament of God’s love and care for us,” said Brother Enrique Rufo, resident minister. “We will continue in our services to the Father, being always one with Brother Eduardo Manalo, the current Executive Minister, in all of the Church’s endeavors,” he added on behalf of the congregation.

Calaoa-an, whose house of worship is 64 kilometers away from the district office in Vigan City, is among the 69 local congregations, nine extensions, and three group worship services (GWS) the district oversees. — With reports from Edlyn Antolin of the INC News Section
