Three months after the establishment of the Ecclesiastical District of Ireland, a new group worship service of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) was opened in Kilkenny, a city located in the southeastern part of the country. It is the fourth GWS in the said newly established district.

Held at the Carlow County Council Civil Defence Headquarters Building along Railway Rd, Kilcarrig, Muine Bheag, County Carlow, the momentous occasion was led by Brother Pepito Acuesta, district supervising minister, on December 17, 2023. Citing biblical verses, he highlighted the importance of being grateful to God.

With such occasion just in time days before their thanksgiving worship service, the brethren from Kilkenny GWS were truly thankful to God for having a place of worship near their homes. Prior to their GWS’s establishment, the brethren used to attend worship services and other gatherings at the place of worship of the Local Congregation of Portlaoise, almost 70 kilometers from Kilkenny.

“God is so great,” said Eraño Elmido, head deacon, explaining, “Because He has blessed us with a GWS in our place.” His wife, Leslie, choir leader, expressed, “We also thank Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the Executive Minister, for remembering us. We always feel his love and guidance.”

Also grateful, Catherine Joyce Balanag, GWS secretary, stated, “This [GWS] would not be possible without the help of our Lord God. Its establishment will open more opportunities for the brethren to all the more participate in the activities.”

“I, and my entire household, promise to be always devoted in serving the Lord as the Day of Judgment is fast approaching,” said Mel John Bernardino, a deacon. He added, “We’ll endure anything because we trust that God will always help us.”

Part of his interview after the sacred gathering, Brother Acuesta stated, “We celebrate today with joyful hearts the establishment of Kilkenny GWS. This is indeed God’s great and wonderful love for us through the Church Administration He placed to lead us.”  — With reports from Corinne Rhea Betsayda and Keith Dimabuyu of INC News Section
