Members of the KADIWA organization from the Ecclesiastical District of Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental, in the Philippines, participated in a volleyball clinic on July 16, 2023 at a multi-purpose covered sports venue in Barangay Macabalan.

After some warm-ups, the participants learned volleyball skills through demonstration, drills, and actual matches.

Danica Tacbas, KADIWA district president, led the activity together with the sports committee of the family organization.

“It’s important to unite in activities such as this because the brethren are taught with skills in sports for them to develop their knowledge and interest,” Danica said. “Sport as a hobby is not only a form of exercise for our health that we use in serving God but also serves to deepen the connection among the KADIWA members.”

“I felt the unity from my fellow young members,” Khim Cluyd Clark Eten, participant from the Local Congregation of Macabalan, expressed. “Playing volleyball would make us physically fit and keep us away from illnesses.”

“Playing together, such as in volleyball, fosters teamwork among the young members,” William Ua-o Jr., KADIWA sports committee officer, explained. “They can … apply it also in other Church activities.” — With reports from Anna Cayanga of INC News Section
