In the Ecclesiastical District of Aklan, new members were added through the baptisms conducted on July 29, 2023, which were part of its celebration for the 109th anniversary of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

Held in two venues—the houses of worship of the Local Congregations of Kalibo and Caticlan—these baptismal gatherings were officiated by Brothers Eduardo Donato, district supervising minister, and Marlon Pineda, assistant district supervising minister respectively.

The officiating ministers taught that becoming a member of the true Church entails remaining inside it, obedient to the teachings of God it upholds in order to receive His promised salvation on Judgment Day.

Before their immersion into water, the candidates for baptism first took their oath of membership. Those in Kalibo were led by Brother Christian Batayola, the district Light of Salvation overseer, while those in Caticlan by Brother Aster Soriano, the district Edification overseer.

“We will continue to spread the gospel in our district. The brethren will be united with the Church Administration in the fruitful work with full courage and fervor,” said Brother Donato.

The couple Edgar and Vevelyn Cordero were among those who received baptism that day. “I promise to serve faithfully the Lord God inside the Iglesia Ni Cristo,” Edgar said. “I will invite everyone, especially my family members, to listen and understand God’s teachings upheld in the Iglesia Ni Cristo so that we will be able to receive salvation,” Evelyn said.  — With reports from Tyding Quinicio of INC News Section
