A newly-built house of worship for the Local Congregation of Balansay, Ecclesiastical District of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, Philippines, was dedicated to God through a special worship service on November 30, 2023.

Brother Wilfredo de Luna, district supervising minister, officiated at the worship service. He highlighted in his biblical preaching how important the house of worship is to the lives of the true servants. “God’s spiritual blessings are always felt and received in the house of worship. It serves as a place of refuge for brethren, especially at times when they feel troubled. He grants them here peace and solitude. God Himself promises to all the more listen to prayers they conduct here,” he said in an interview afterwards.

“The house of worship plays the most significant part of our services to God. As God loves the house of worship, on our part, we will value this sacred place, for doing so also signifies our love for God,” said Brother Jedexan Dueñas, resident minister, on behalf of the congregation.

Brethren from neighboring local congregations also attended the dedication service. One of them was Janneth Cudao from Alacaak Congregation, which is about 13 kilometers away from Balansay. “During moments like this, when a houses of worship is being dedicated to God, we always feel His presence, a proof of His generosity to His people.”

It was in October 1989 when Church members in Balansay was organized as an extension of the Local Congregation of Mamburao. After 26 years, as Church membership at their village keep increasing, the Church Administration approved on February 26, 2015 that they constitute a full-fledged local congregation. Theirs was a 70-seater house of worship.

“We’re very happy to finally see our new house of worship dedicated to God. Truly it has inspired us, Church officers, to be more diligent and dedicated in fulfilling our duties,” shared Jennifer Melgar, organist.

The new 110-seater edifice is located at Sitio Sawmill, Barangay Balansay in the town of Mamburao, which is about five kilometers from the district office along 112 National Road, Brgy. Payompon, also in Mamburao. It has been equipped with CCTV camera system, sound system, fire alarm system, and a Johannus organ. — With reports from Alyssa Mae Orallo of INC News Section
