Church members in the Ecclesiastical District of Oregon warmly welcomed their guests, along with the doctrinal instructees and prospective members, during the musical evangelical mission on July 30, 2023. This propagational event was held in the Mt. Hood Community College Theater in Gresham, Oregon.

Officially opening the event, Brother Rod Reyes, district Christian Family Organizations (CFO) overseer, gave the welcome remarks to all attendees. This was followed by musical performances from selected brethren in the district.

“It’s inspiring for me to see everybody smiling, not only my fellow performers, but also our audience,” said Kyle Cabalitasan, one of the performers.

Halfway through the musical portion of the activity, Brother Armando Caguinguin, district Light Of Salvation overseer, delivered a short message, welcoming and recognizing the guests, doctrinal instructees, and prospective members. Afterwards, the musical performances resumed.

Then came the highlight of this propagational activity—the study of the words of God led by district supervising minister Brother Dernilo Pascua. In his homily, he pointed out from the Holy Scriptures the process by which man can attain salvation. Citing Mark 16:15–16, Brother Pascua taught that one must first be preached the gospel to, believe in it, and receive the true baptism in order to be saved.

“We show our love for our fellowmen, which is why we do our best to invite them to activities such as this. It is our desire that they, too, receive the blessings we enjoy as Church Of Christ members, especially the hope for salvation,” conveyed Brother Pascua. — With reports from Jillian Pimentel of INC News Section
