In Canada, the Ecclesiastical District of Greater Toronto held a district-wide baptism on July 30, 2023, while the Ecclesiastical Districts of Edmonton and Manitoba conducted theirs on the following day.

“Baptism is held every month in our district. But this one is even more special since it is being held also in commemoration of the 109th anniversary of the Church. So, the brethren prepared months before this holy occasion to ensure that our district would have many fruits for this month,” said Brother Isidro Diña Jr., assistant district supervising minister in Greater Toronto.

Brother Raul Adalla, district supervising minister in Greater Toronto, officiated at the baptism in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Toronto. Right after the baptism, the new members of the Church were greeted by the brethren in a Welcome, My Brethren activity. One of the newly baptized, Althea Visperas, said that the activity was “fun and exciting for [she] got to meet [her] fellow Binhi members in the district.”

Meanwhile, on July 31, the Ecclesiastical District of Edmonton conducted baptism in the house of worship of the Eastwood Congregation. Brother Rolando Gaviola, district supervising minister, reminded the candidates for baptism the importance of entering and remaining in the Church Of Christ. Having decided to join the Church, they were also encouraged to share with others the true faith that they now have.

On the same day, the baptism in the Ecclesiastical District of Manitoba was held in the house of worship of the Local Congregation of Regina. Before receiving baptism, the prospective members were exhorted by Brother Roland Andrade, district supervising minister, through his Bible-based homily to live in holiness and obedience to God’s commandments.

“Through the unity of the ministers, ministerial workers, and Church officers, as well as the brethren, the baptism was a success as many new Church members were added to our district,” said Brother Diña. He added, “We account this to the help and mercy of God, as well as to the valiant leadership of our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, who continues to inspire us to become more active in the works of the Church, especially in the field of propagation.” — With reports from Steven Advincula, Kyla Lopez and Eric Perey of INC News Section
